OUR FOUNDER'S STORY

My life began in extreme survival. My mother fled the Rwandan genocide, crossing the border to Mparo in Rukiga District, where she married and conceived. My father passed away when I was just 12 years old—in truth, I never knew his face, his voice, or his story.
Growing up in Mparo, my mother and I lived in overwhelming poverty. We owned only a single pair of shoes between us—if I wore them to church, she stayed behind; if she wore them, I stayed behind. Many nights, we cried silently inside our small, leaky three-room hut on empty stomachs so no one outside would hear our pain, while my mother worked tirelessly weaving mats and doing hard manual labor to keep us fed.
Not long after, heartbreak struck again when my mother succumbed to HIV/AIDS. Left completely orphaned at age 12, I became the primary caregiver for my younger brother. To keep us alive, I repaired shoes on the roadside, vended fruit on the streets, and took on any manual work I could find.
The Miracle: Stella’s Gift
Then came the miracle that transformed my life: Stella Zaimi, an executive leader at Illinois Back Institute in the United States. Through her deep compassion and sponsorship with Mountain Children’s Ministry, Mum Stella personally funded my entire education through secondary school and university, enabling me to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration in 2018.
That single act of love gave me a future I could never have imagined. Because Mum Stella believed in me when I had nothing, I made a lifelong promise to pass that gift forward. Following years of frontline social work at The Kabale Shepherd Center (TKSC), I returned home to found BCCCSC.
We stand as a 100% locally-led engine of hope—ensuring that other orphans, vulnerable children, and young mothers in Rukiga District receive the exact same life-changing opportunity Mum Stella gave to me.

Pillar 1: Children’s Care & Quality Education

Education & Tuition Sponsorship: Paying school fees, providing textbooks, uniforms, and scholastic materials for orphans and vulnerable children (ages 5–18).

Vocational Trade Training: Offering practical, market-driven training in Tailoring, Hairdressing, Carpentry, Masonry, Catering, and Electrical Installation.
